The Classicist hunting castle surrounded by extensive natural landscape park in the English style ranks among the most visited historical monuments in West Bohemia. It was built by Jan Vojtěch Černín according to the designs of V. Haberditz at the end of the 18th century. The ground-floor building with Rococo and Classicist interiors is completed by the chapel with the riding school and stable, designed by I. Palliardi. Antonín Tuvora, a painter and decorator from Prague, participated significantly in decorating the chateau interior. He used the Al secco technique to decorate the walls in the majority of rooms.
